Mid Mount Alternator Bracket
⚠ Check the spec diagram in images for dimensions, bolt sizes & compatible alternators before ordering.
Designed by an engine builder, this bracket is extremely strong and holds the alternator close to the factory location.
The key elements that set this mid mount bracket apart:
- Made from strong 6061 billet alloy.
- Space for idler pulley. This reduces the amount of belt shake/slap under high rpm loads, helping extend belt life.
- Doesn't touch the cylinder heads.
- Perfect fitment right out of the box - designed to directly replace factory alternator brackets and run the same backspacing so no need for extensive modifications if you are replacing your standard style alternator bracket.
NOTES:
This alternator bracket is designed to suit Ford Windsor V8 engines (289, 302, 351W) when used with 1969-onwards OEM-spec timing covers.
Compatible With:
- 1969+ OEM-style timing covers
- Left-hand inlet mechanical or electric water pumps
- Standard 4-bolt raised face harmonic balancers
Photos shown reflect correct water pump and timing cover configuration.
Not Compatible With:
- Pre-1969 timing covers (right-hand inlet, 3-bolt balancers)
- 5.0L EFI timing covers (reverse rotation pumps, crank angle sensor mounts)
- Belt-drive or billet timing covers (these differ from OEM spec and may require custom modification)

- Verify pulley alignment, water pump style & clearance before installation (contact us if unsure)
- Check product photos for alternator specifications
- Compatible with Powermaster, Aeroflow & many other alternators
- Suits standard blocks with 5/16" timing cover bolt holes
- Blocks with larger bolt holes (e.g. Iron Eagle) require thread inserts to return to OEM spec
- Designed to replace factory alternator bracket
- Requires 4-bolt raised-face OEM-spec harmonic balancer
- Aftermarket flat-face balancers require raised hub to match OEM dimensions
- Recommended for use with mechanical water pump & idler pulley
- Mounts to three factory engine block locations (see image, circled in red)

- Crafted from robust 6061 billet aluminium.
- Stainless steel hardware included.

PLEASE NOTE: In some circumstances, for 8.2 deck Windsor with MSD HVC2 coil, the bracket may need to be rotated 180 degress to clear some timing covers.
140amp Ford alternator Aeroflow (optional)
High-Output Charging: 140-amp Aeroflow alternator built for street and performance setups - supports electric fans, pumps, ignition systems, and modern accessories with stable charging at idle and cruise.
Direct-Fit Ford Mounting: Bolts straight onto Ford applications for a simple, reliable install.
Important Notes:
- Alternator must be properly grounded to the engine block. Painted or coated brackets can prevent grounding - run a dedicated ground wire if needed.
- Battery must be 12.6V+ when fully charged. Weak batteries can cause alternator failure.
- Do not disconnect the battery while running - this can destroy the alternator.
- Alternator spins ~2.5× crankshaft speed; max safe alternator speed is 15,000 RPM. Engines above 6,000 RPMmust confirm pulley ratios. (Supplied pulley: 1.75".)
